All the stars were out for the annual Met Ball at Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Actors, designers, models, and celebrities were there in celebration of the newest exhibit at the museum, "American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity." This year's ball was hosted by none other than Oprah Winfrey and Anna Wintour and brought out a host of incredible gowns and.....some...not so incredible gowns.
Let's take a look at the good, the bad, and the ugly:
Cassie is hands down my favorite of the night. She looks absolutely DIVINE in this blue Versace frock and blue and black Sergio Rossi heels. I was adamant about not liking her choice of hair color and one-side shaven cut, but it totally works here. Not to mention, she's naturally gorgeous and her makeup is always on point!
Kerry Washington has always been one of my favorites when it comes to style and she didn't disappoint me here either. She looks very sultry in this red grecian-esque draped dress designed by Thakoon for Gap and Christian Louboutin Titi bronze pumps. She also shows just the right amount of skin with this leg-baring split.
Blake Lively, actress on my favorite show Gossip Girl, was one of the few women who took it short for the Met Gala. She looks fabulous in this ruffled dress by Marchesa and Christian Louboutin Lili Marlene pumps.
Katy Perry who is usually hit and miss with me, looks truly stunning here in this cute literally glowing dress by Cute Circuit. It definately goes with the Katy Perry image. I dig it!
Jessica Alba takes it back to old Hollywood in this satin Sophie Thealett for Gap gown. Not much to say here. She looks great!
Sarah Jessica Parker! What can I say...Carrie Bradshaw has nothing on you girl! I absolutely loved this champagne colored pleated dress by Halston Heritage. Sarah completed her look with jewels and earrngs by VBH and a delightful hair flower in the same color as the dress. Simply beautiful!
Now onto some of the dresses that left me hanging...ya know, either there was too much there...or there was something missing:
Not everything looks right on everyone, and this is the case with Mila Kunis. I usually am in love with all things Vera Wang, but this dress seems to gobble up the petite actress. IMO, it takes away from her beauty.
Kristen Stewart...no ma'am! This Chanel does nothing for you at all! The top of the dress doesn't seem to go with the bottom, you eye makeup is too dark, your hair is too dark, I don't like the style of hair...I just...I can't!
Coco Rocha wore this dramatic Zac Posen cloud dress. And...that's all it was. Dramatic. Dramatic isn't always good. The end.
Eva Longoria usually does it for me on the fashion tip, but this night...I wasn't feeling her in this Marchesa gown. I don't know if it is the way she's standing or what. But the floral design on the dress seems to make her look wide and we all know Eva is a size 00. And the cut of this train is all wrong.
What do you guys think?
